EUGENE, Ore. – The team and individual qualifiers were announced on Monday for the NAIA Cross Country National Championship and
Sam Robison and
Stephanie Hescock of Northwest Christian were among those individuals selected.
To earn an individual qualification, a runner must finish in the top-15 in their conference tournament and be one of the top five runners that is not on a team which has qualified. Robison took 13th in the CCC championship on Saturday, but 9 of the first 12 spots were filled with runners on Southern Oregon, College of Idaho, Eastern Oregon and Concordia, all of whom have qualified as a team.
On the women’s side only College of Idaho and Concordia will run in the NAIA championships as a team, but Hescock’s ninth-place overall finish was good enough to get her in as the fifth and final individual qualifier from the Cascade Conference.
The NAIA Cross Country National Championship takes place on November 21st at the Fort Vancouver Historical Site in Vancouver, Washington. Concordia and the CCC are co-hosts for the championships.
