EUGENE, Ore. – Both the Northwest Christian University men’s and women’s teams were honored by the Cascade Collegiate Conference this season as the Champions of Character Award recipients, as voted on by the conference coaches. The awards were announced by the CCC office on Monday.
The women’s basketball team, which took 10th place in the CCC this season, was named Co-Team Champion of Character alongside Eastern Oregon. The men, who finished fifth in the conference, were named along with Northwest University as the Team Champion of Character.
Athletic Director Corey Anderson said, “It makes me very proud of both the men’s and women’s basketball programs to be recognized for the character that they both strive to embody. Both programs are blessed to have the coaching staff and student-athlete leadership that are being recognized for this award.”
