Ashley King have been named the Cascade Collegiate Conference men’s and women’s golfers of the week. For Ahrens it is the fourth straight selection, dating back to the fall golf season and for King it is her second consecutive award of the season.
The women’s golf team took fourth place at the Pacific University Invitational and King took second place individually. King was one shot behind the medalist after round one and finished just four shots back. She carded a 78 during the first round, her second best 18-hole performance of the season, and she rounded out the weekend with an 82 on Sunday.
King has now been named the CCC Player of the Week for women’s golf four times in her career.
Ahrens tied for fourth place individually on the men’s side of the Pacific Invite, scoring a 71-74=145. His result helped lead the Beacons to a third-place finish. His opening round 71 was his sixth sub-par round of the season.
Ahrens has now earned CCC Player of the Week honors six times in his career.
